This is a generalist, founding-style engineering role. You'll own features end to end across the whole stack (our Go services, DynamoDB and OpenSearch data layers, async pipelines, and the React Native mobile app) and ship them fast.
We expect you to be comfortable across the stack and genuinely eager to learn the parts you're not. That said, if mobile UI/UX is your strength, you can lean into it: there's a deep well of interface and interaction work in our app, from native iOS feel to smooth animations and the details that make the product feel great to use. The bar is high: performance and polish are part of the job, not afterthoughts.
Our product is also deeply AI-powered under the hood. You don't need to be an ML specialist for this role, but you'll work alongside systems built on self-hosted LLMs and computer-vision pipelines, and curiosity about them is a plus.
End-to-end features. From data model to API to UI, you'll take features from idea to shipped across backend and mobile, and own them after they land.
Mobile craft. A cross-platform React Native app (iOS and Android) built with Expo, where the details matter: native platform interactions, smooth performance, and an interface that feels like a place people want to spend time, not a generic app.
Backend and data. Go services, DynamoDB and OpenSearch data modeling, caching, and the async pipelines (Lambdas and Step Functions) that keep everything fast and correct at scale.
Performance and scale. We're at the point where the naive solution doesn't hold up. You'll care about latency, cost, and how things behave as we grow.
